As verbally advised we received a wireless message from our S. S. "Asian" yesterday stating she was released by the Japanese Authorities in Formosa at 11 a.m. yesterday 20th. inst. and is expected to arrive here this evening.
We beg to present our pro forma claim for compensation against those responsible for the loss sustained by us due to the wrongful detention of the vessel, and are at your service for any further details.
The Captain advises that there is some minor dama ge
to his vessel, but we do not know where the responsibility for this lies, and will go into matters promptly on the vessel's
arrival.
